In Between the Waves – resin on wood painting
€ 490.00 incl. btw
We drift along with fierce, but also calmer waves on the way to the destination, which always bring us back to ourselves.
My work is inspired by water. Everything you can find at sea can also be found in your own feeling. You are always on the move, floating on the sea, from high waves to calm bays. From icebergs to deep on the seabed.
In Between the Waves is part of a larger collection of works that relate to the vastness and power of the ocean. The theme that connects all these paintings is “Atlas of the Ocean”. The work gives a feeling of freedom and connectedness, and seeks the connection with a greater power.
The name Atlas refers to Greek mythology where Atlas was given the task of ensuring that the earth (Gaia) and the sky (Uranus) could not reach each other. These works seek the connection again.
In Between the Waves comes into its own on a somewhat shorter wall, for example a somewhat smaller room, hall or staircase, or together with other paintings in a gallery wall.
This work is made on a wooden surface and built up in layers with resin / epoxy. This gives the work a lot of depth. Due to the transparency of the layers, the white foam also reflects the underlying layers. This creates a spatial effect.
The work has a size of 37 cm in diameter
