Manta – Resin on hout

These layers, and the shadows and bright turquoise! I have the feeling that I am immersed in a warm underwater world. I get a glimpse into a serene underwater world.

This work is part of a larger collection of works that relate to the grandeur and power of the ocean. The theme that connects all these paintings is “Atlas of the Ocean”. The work gives a feeling of freedom and connectedness, and seeks the connection with a greater power.

The name Atlas refers to Greek mythology where Atlas was given the task of ensuring that the earth (Gaia) and the sky (Uranus) could not reach each other. These works seek the connection again.

Manta works fine as part of a gallery wall, but can also stand alone. Think of a hall, toilet, a cozy corner or one near a dresser or closet.

This work is made on a wooden surface and built up in layers with resin / epoxy. This gives the work a lot of depth. When the light falls on it, you can clearly see the shadows through the transparent layers that create a spatial effect.

Manta is 30 cm x 30 cm. The wooden panel has an edge of 4 cm.

The work has a wooden edge so that it can be hung directly on the wall.
