Submerged – resin on wood triptich

This work tells the story of going under, surrendering to the “flow” and yet always coming up again.

Sugmerged is part of a larger collection of works that relate to the vastness and power of the ocean. The theme that connects all these paintings is “Atlas of the Ocean”. The work gives a feeling of freedom and connectedness, and seeks the connection with a greater power.

The name Atlas refers to Greek mythology where Atlas was given the task of ensuring that the earth (Gaia) and the sky (Uranus) could not reach each other. These works seek the connection again.

Submerged can best be hung on a somewhat longer wall, leaving enough space to show the work to its fullest. The three panels can also be hung separately from each other.

This work is made on a wooden surface and built up in layers with resin / epoxy. This gives the work a lot of depth. Due to the transparency of the layers, the white foam also reflects the underlying layers. This creates a spatial effect.

The work has a size of 100 x 100 (three panels together)
