Waters Edge – resin on wood panel

This work is part of a larger collection of works that are related to the grandeur and life force of the ocean.

The theme that connects all these paintings is “Atlas of the Ocean”. The work gives a feeling of freedom and connectedness and seeks a connection with greater power. The name Atlas refers to Greek mythology where Atlas was given the task of ensuring that the earth (Gaia) and the sky (Uranus) could not reach each other. These works search for the connection again.

This work works great as part of a gallery wall but can also stand on its own. Think of a hall, toilet, a cozy corner or a near a dresser or cupboard.

This work was made on a wooden background, then constructed from multiple layers of colored and transparent resin/epoxy. With white, the foam of the water is also processed in the resin in a way that creates a 3D effect.

• Waters Edge is 20 cm by 20 cm. The wooden panel has a border of 4 cm.

The work is open at the rear so that it can be hung directly on the wall.
