Brother – resin on wood
The layers in this painting, deeper dark blue hues always give me new details to look at. The white foam and light blue gives a fresh contrast to the deep blue layers. It seems as if I am floating above the foam of the sea and at the same time absorbed in it.
This work is part of a larger collection of works that are related to the grandeur and life force of the ocean. The theme that connects all these paintings is “Atlas of the Ocean”. The work gives a feeling of freedom and connectedness and seeks a connection with greater power.
The name Atlas refers to Greek mythology where Atlas was given the task of ensuring that the earth (Gaia) and the sky (Uranus) could not reach each other. These works search for the connection again.
This smaller work works great as part of a gallery wall but can also stand on its own. Think of a hall, toilet, a cozy corner or a near a dresser or cupboard.
This work is made on a wooden background and built up in layers with resin/epoxy. This gives the work a lot of depth.
- Brother is 20 cm by 20 cm. The wooden panel has a border of 4 cm.
The work is open at the rear so that it can be hung directly on the wall.
